Visual Family Tree 2007/05/30 00:38 Karma: 0
The visual family tree capability is currently work in progress. It will enable the exchange of information from standard off the shelf family tree software that can be purchased for around $30 or £20.

Using this software you input your data and relationships. This can then be exported as a GEDCOM file which is the industry standard format for Genealogy translation.

The GEDCOM file is then uploaded into the site and hey presto a visual family tree is created. Nice and simple.

This then gives us the capability of expanding the family tree and connecting multiple files together to create a single complete extended family tree over multiple continents.

Once its all working I will provide some better instructions but it should be pretty exciting to see what happens when we get it working and start uploading files.

In fact this must make us the most advanced family on the planet becuase we have our own website and graphical family tree (soon).

Just imagine what we might learn about ourselves......hmmmm.....(finger hovers over self destruct button).
